Rebecca and Nicholas’s Perfect Day
In 2014 I had a call from a father of the bride contacting me about a wedding on the beautiful Sunshine coast. I’m not going to lie it definitely peaked my interest. Usually my weddings are based around the Hunter Valley, Newcastle or Port Stephens but being close to my hometown I was excited to head back to Queensland and capture this wedding.
Usually I would meet my couples for the first time before they book me, but my first meeting with Rebecca and Nicholas was at Moffats Beach for our engagement shoot. I was a little nervous hoping we’d click, but within minutes of meeting this wonderful couple I was instantly put at ease. Their huge love for each other was evident and for me, a photographer who LOVES to capture the emotion it made me SOOO excited. I knew instantly this wedding was going to rock. Beautiful people inside and out the whole experience was photographers dream.
On the lovely spring morning of their wedding I head out with my wonderful assistant (who was also my host for the weekend and great friend Benjy Pocock) to the incredibly beautiful Flaxton Gardens, to spend the morning with our stunning bride and her gorgeous girls. With calm and ease we captured all the perfect moments, and plenty of laughs. Hair4brides Sunshine Coast and Kate Ellen Makeup Artistry did such a beautiful job with the girls it made my job a whole lot easier. We then head over to the boys and boy do they look dapper, like true professionals they pose just right in between the laughs.
It was now time the big moment had arrived for our wonderful couple to say those magic words. I could not fault the truly picturesque Flaxton gardens on both looks and quality of staff, what a place. Bec and Nick were married by Jarrad Bayliss who ’s ceremony was personal and created a great emotional, funny and relaxed ceremony.
Now Mr and Mrs Allatt, it was my turn to spend some quality time with the newly weds. The wonderful people at Chauffeured Elegance Pty Ltd were so great with everything we needed and their cars are definitely some of the stars in the shots. These guys even stuck around a little longer then they were supposed to, definitely going the ‘Extra mile’ for us (See what I did there). The weather turned it on for us that afternoon, the light was just perfect and by George we made the most of it. It was almost effortless to capture the wonderful love these two shared and I can’t wait to share them with you. Nick, Bec and their gang (wedding party) were more than a pleasure to work with, even though it was their day they were more worried if I was happy and looked after.
As the sun set in the west it was time for the party. The speeches had it all, laughter and tears (happy tears), drinks were had and feet danced. I couldn’t help myself whisking the bride and groom away for one last photo for them to share a moment and take it all in.
I can’t express enough how wonderful this day was for me as a photographer and a person. I was looked after by everyone involved in the wedding and trust me the love was felt and I appreciated it more than you all could know. Thank you Bec and Nick for being truly wonderful, your family and friends were a reflection of the people you are. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the whole flight back as I looked back through the photos of that day.
Thank you to Flaxton Gardens, Hair4brides, Kate Ellen make up artistry, Jarrad Bayliss celebrant, Ideas in icing, Chauffeured Elegance Pty Ltd and my wonderfully helpful and thoughtful assistant for the day Benjy Pocock.
P.S. Our gorgeous Rebecca Allatt has been selected as one of the finalist for Bride to be Australia’s 2015 Bride of the Year. Please duck over and vote for her if you can and we wish her all the best. Click here.
